I get a “This tracker is already active” message when trying to activate my Tractive tracker

Seeing “This tracker is already active” when setting up your Tractive tracker? Here’s why it happens and what to do next.

 

Why do I see this message?

When you buy a tracker and subscription from tractive.com, the purchase process has two parts:

Part 1: Tracker purchase

You buy a tracker, and use an email address that’s registered to a Tractive account.

 

Part 2: Activation

After the tracker purchase, you're prompted to log in to activate your tracker by getting a subscription. Your tracker and subscription will be linked to whichever Tractive account you log in with at this step.

If you log in or create an account using a different email address from Part 2 above, you’ll see the “This tracker is already active” message.

 


 

What to do if you see this message

Simply sign out of the current one and sign in using the correct email:

  1. From the message screen, select Cancel.
  2. Go to Account, and Sign Out.
  3. Sign In and enter the email address and password you used when you bought your tracker. Continue to your account.

If you forgot your password, select Forgot your password?.

Once logged into the correct account, your tracker and subscription should already be ready for use.

 

If you purchase a subscription after buying a tracker from tractive.com, it automatically includes 7 extra days to cover the shipping time, so you don’t lose any active tracking time while you wait for your tracker to arrive.
