If you want to use the Tractive GPS app, you'll need to make sure your device meets a few basic requirements. Here’s how to quickly check if your phone or tablet is supported.
Check if your device uses a supported operating system
The Tractive GPS app works on:
- iPhone and iPad: with iOS/iPadOS 17 or above
- Android phones and tablets: Android 10.0 or above
Make sure your Android is Play Protect certified
The Tractive app is only supported on Android devices that are Play Protect-certified and have official Google Play Services installed. This means:
- Devices must be certified through the Google Play Store.
- We don’t support devices running unofficial Google Play Services.
- Most newer Huawei phones (such as the Huawei P40/50 and Mate 40/50 series) don’t have Google Play Services and aren’t Play Protect-certified, so the app won’t work on these models.
Make sure your mobile device’s operating system is up to date
Running the latest software helps you get the best experience with the Tractive app. For your safety and to keep things working smoothly, we recommend using the most up-to-date operating system available for your device.
Since software update steps can change depending on your device model or manufacturer, it’s always best to consult the latest official guide for your device:
iPhone/iPad users
For the most accurate instructions on checking or updating iOS or iPadOS, see Apple’s update support article.
Android users
For detailed, up-to-date instructions, check out Google’s Android updates article.
If your device can’t be updated to meet the minimum requirements for the Tractive app, some features may be unavailable.
Requirement for using Augmented Reality (AR) view
If you want to use the Augmented Reality view in the Tractive app, your device also needs to have a compass sensor. This feature may not be available on all phones or tablets.
