Ways to improve your Tractive tracker’s GPS accuracy
Want your Tractive’s tracking to be as accurate as possible? Here’s what you can do.
Check your Power Saving Zone
The tracker enters power saving mode when it detects the WiFi you selected when you set it up. If your Power Saving Zone isn’t pinned to the right spot on the map, your tracker will always show your pet in that location when it detects that WiFi.
Here's how to check it:
- In the Tractive app, go to Account.
- Select your tracker, and go to Power Saving Zones.
- Select the zone you want to check to see it on the map.
- You’ll see the name of your home WiFi on the pin. Make sure the pin is right on your home’s location.
- If it’s not, move the map so the pin sits exactly on your home.
- Save to keep your changes.
Don’t use LIVE Tracking while indoors
When indoors, just stick with default tracking. LIVE Tracking can “jump” or act weird inside because GPS signals can’t get through walls.
Take your tracker outside for better accuracy
The tracker always works best outdoors. GPS and mobile network signals are strongest outside with a clear view of the sky.
Test it with a 10-minute outdoor walk with LIVE Tracking
Go outside, switch LIVE Tracking on, and walk around. This helps the tracker get the best signal and shows you how it performs in ideal conditions.
