How to activate your tracker

Getting your Tractive tracker set up is quick and easy. Just follow the steps that match where and how you got your tracker. This article will walk you through activating your tracker, whether you bought it on tractive.com, from a store, as a gift, or as a replacement.

If you bought your tracker and subscription on tractive.com

When you buy a tracker and subscription together from tractive.com, your account is created automatically during checkout and your tracker arrives already activated. All you need to do is complete your account setup and log in.

 

Step 1: Complete your account set up

After your purchase, you’ll receive an email with instructions to set your password.

  1. Check the inbox for the address you used to buy your tracker and subscription.
  2. Open the email from Tractive with password setup instructions and follow the steps. The password setup link from the email is valid for 24 hours. If it’s expired, reset your password to complete your account setup.

Step 2: Log in and start tracking

  1. Download the Tractive app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. On the login screen, enter the email and password you just set up.
  3. Once you’re logged in, your tracker and subscription are already active.
  4. Assign a pet to your tracker, and you’re good to go!

 


 

If you got your tracker without a subscription, as a replacement, or as a gift

This section covers users who bought their tracker from a retailer (like Amazon), received it as a replacement or gift, or haven’t yet purchased a subscription.

 

Scenario 1: You have an existing subscription to transfer

If you’re replacing a lost or broken tracker, or simply upgrading, you don’t need a new subscription. To activate your new tracker, follow the steps in How to transfer your subscription.

 

Scenario 2: You don’t have a subscription yet

  1. Download the Tractive app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Select Create Account (if you don’t have one) or Sign In (if you do).
  3. Once in the app, select Add tracker.
  4. Enter the tracker ID (the eight letters on the back of your device).
  5. Follow the prompts to choose and purchase the subscription plan that fits you best.
  6. Assign a pet to your tracker and start tracking.

 

Scenario 3: You have an activation or voucher code
