Keeping your Tractive GPS tracker and app up-to-date

To give you the best experience possible, Tractive releases regular updates for both your Tractive GPS tracker and the companion mobile app. Your app will notify you anytime a tracker update is available, and you can follow the prompts to successfully receive the update. Make sure your mobile phone will automatically update the Tractive GPS mobile app as new versions become available to take advantage of all the latest features from Tractive.


Update your Tractive GPS tracker

You will be notified via the app when there is an update available for your tracker. Updates for your Tractive GPS tracker will be sent from the Tractive servers to your device via Bluetooth, or if you do not have a Bluetooth compatible tracker, via the cellular network connection. To ensure the update is successful, please do the following.

  1. Keep your phone's Bluetooth turned on.
  2. Make sure your GPS tracker is charged (above 20% battery) and turned on.
  3. Ensure your device also has an active mobile network connection.
  4. Set the tracker down next to your phone and keep the Tractive GPS mobile app open.

Under these circumstances, the update will take just a few minutes.
