Manage History Settings

  • While on the History tab, click the map icon imageedit_4_9669182739.gif in the bottom right corner to access the history settings.

View Distance Traveled

While on the History tab, pick a timeframe to see a total distance estimate displayed directly on the map (in kilometers or miles - if you'd like to update the measurement units displayed, click here).

This distance is based on location updates from your tracker. The more updates reported, the more accurate the information. Therefore, if you would like to get more precise information about the distance traveled by your pet, activate LIVE Tracking Mode for the best results.

FAQs

What is the Tractive Heatmap?

The Tractive Heatmap is part of the Location History feature. It shows you places where your pet spent the most time, illustrated by colors on the map. It's great for curious pet parents who want to see where their dog or cat prefers to spend their time. See more here.

How far back can I see my pet’s Location History?

You can see the Location History of your pet for the past 24 hours with a BASIC Tractive subscription. Choose PREMIUM and get 365 days of Location History.

What does the Walks button do?

If you're a dog owner, you'll also see Walks in the center of your History screen. Tapping on this button will take you to your Walk History. More information about the Walk feature can be found here.

What is the difference between Location History and Walk History?

Location History (displayed when you tap History on the bottom bar):

  • Lets you view the positions reported from your pet's tracker within a given timeframe.
  • The recorded trace is based on the location data from the tracker itself.

Walk History (displayed when you tap Walks in the center of the History screen):

  • Lets you view the walks you've tracked using the Walk feature.
  • The recorded trace is based on your cellphone's GPS positions.

Therefore, during the same timeframe, Location History and Walk History are likely to differ because Location History displays the positions reported from your tracker, while Walk History shows the positions collected from your cellphone when using the Walk feature.
