[ForTranslation] How to use the light on your tracker

Your tracker has a built-in light that helps you spot your pet in the dark or low-light conditions. You can turn it on from the app or directly from the tracker's power button.

When to use the light

The light feature is helpful when:

Walking your pet at night or in foggy conditions
Your pet is off-leash around cars, cyclists, or other people
You need to find your pet in the dark or hiding nearby

How to turn the light on and off

From the Tractive app

In the Tractive mobile app, go to Map.
Swipe up on the bottom bar to show more options.
Tap Light to turn on the LED light.
To turn it off, tap Light again.

If you don't turn it off manually, the light stays on for a couple of minutes, then turns off automatically.

Using the power button on your tracker

If you have one of these tracker models, you can turn the light on directly from the tracker:

DOG 6
DOG 6 Mini
DOG 6 XL
DOG 6 XL Adventure
CAT 6 Mini

To turn the light on or off:

Look for your tracker’s power button.
To turn the light on, double-press the button quickly.
To turn the light off, press the button once.

You're all set!

Your tracker's light is now on, making your pet easier to spot in the dark. The light will turn off automatically after a few minutes, or you can turn it off manually anytime.

When the light isn't available

If your tracker is in a Power Saving Zone (like at home), the light feature will be temporarily unavailable. This is normal. The light will work again once your pet leaves the Power Saving Zone.

If you see the light option grayed out in the app:

Your tracker might be in a Power Saving Zone.
Your tracker might not have network connection.
Check that your tracker is online.

Important to know

Power button control is model-specific. Only DOG 6, DOG 6 Mini, DOG 6 XL, DOG 6 XL Adventure, and CAT 6 Mini trackers can control the light using the power button.

Light doesn't work in Power Saving Zones. When your tracker is in a Power Saving Zone, the light feature is temporarily unavailable to conserve battery.

Light auto-turns off. The light automatically turns off after a few minutes to save battery, even if you don't manually turn it off.

Tracker must be online for app control. Your tracker needs network connection to receive the light command from the app.
