Family Sharing permissions and features

When you share your tracker through Family Sharing, family members can track your pet and use most features. Only you (the tracker owner) can change settings.

Family Sharing requires a Premium subscription.

 

Looking for something else? If you need to share your pet's location with people who don't have a Tractive account (like when your pet is lost), use Public Sharing instead.

Owners and family members can: Only owner can:

When some features aren't available

Tracker in a Power Saving Zone

When your tracker is in a Power Saving Zone, these features are unavailable to everyone (including owners):

  • LIVE Tracking
  • Light
  • Sound

Why: Power Saving Zones pause these features to save battery. They'll work again when the tracker leaves the zone.

 

Poor network connection

If the tracker has weak cellular signal or no GPS, LIVE Tracking will appear grayed out for everyone.

What to do: See LIVE Tracking is grayed out or disabled for troubleshooting steps.
