If you're having trouble setting up a Power Saving Zone with your tracker and FRITZ!Box router (e.g. if the WiFi in the Tractive app is not displayed), we recommend checking the following options in this order:
- Proceed without Power Saving Zone: If you’re new to Tractive and are not familiar with the battery life of your tracker yet, we recommend trying out the tracker without a Power Saving Zone. This is the easiest option to see if battery life is sufficient without having to change your router settings.
- Change compatibility settings on your FRITZ!Box: If you want to use the Power Saving Zone, you can change some settings on your FRITZ!Box to ensure compatibility. Important: This doesn't work with all FRITZ!Box models. Instructions for this can be found in the next section.
- Use a Tractive Base Station: If no Power Saving Zone is displayed in your Tractive app even after adjusting the settings, or if the problem persists, you can get a Tractive Base Station. This simplifies setting up the Power Saving Zone. You can find more information about this at the end of this article.
Change the compatibility settings on your FRITZ!Box
- Log in to your FRITZ!Box settings at http://fritz.box.
- Once logged in, go to Wi-Fi.
- Select Wi-Fi Channel and enable Adjust Wi-Fi channel settings.
- From the Wireless standard dropdown, select Wi-Fi 4 (802.11b+g+n) for the 2.4-GHz frequency band.
- Click Apply to save.
- Next, go to Security in the Wi-Fi menu.
- In the WPA Encryption section > WPA mode, select WPA + WPA2.
- Click Apply to save.

Set up a Power Saving Zone in the Tractive app
After following the steps above to change the compatibility settings of your FRITZ!Box, try to set up a Power Saving Zone in the Tractive app.
