When you charge your tracker, the LED will turn red. Once the battery is fully charged, the red light will either disappear or be replaced by a green light.
Usually, the LED will light up red within a few seconds to indicate that charging is ongoing.
If the tracker hasn't been charged for some time, it may take up to one minute for the LED to light up red.
Follow the steps below to charge your Tractive GPS tracker.

This tracker model is compatible with two different types of chargers: the Clip Charger and the Magnetic Charger.
|
Below, you will find the charging instructions for each type of charger:

Clip Charger
|
- Place the tracker inside the charger clip, ensuring that the two gold points on the device are aligned with the gold points in the clip
- Attach the provided cable to the clip (Note: Most USB cables will work, however not all are compatible. Therefore, please be sure to use the USB cable you received with the charger if you are having difficulties charging the device)
- Connect the charger to a power source. The tracker will be fully charged in less than three hours.
- Once charging is complete, simply remove the tracker from the clip.

Magnetic Charger
|
- Firmly clip the charger onto the end of the tracker with the magnetic, gold charging points, as in the video linked here. You should hear a click as the charger attaches to the tracker. The tracker will be automatically turned on when you charge it.
- Connect the charger to a power source. The approximate charging time is three hours.
- Pull slightly to disconnect the tracker from the charging cable.
- Before first using the device, be sure to charge the tracker for at least two hours.

- Press the tracker firmly into the charger. The gold dots on the back of the tracker line up with the yellow charging points on the charger.
- You should hear a click as the tracker attaches into place and begins charging.
- While the tracker is charging, you'll see a red light, and that light will then turn green to indicate that charging is complete. The approximate charging time is 1 hour.
- Apply pressure on the tracker through the gap on the back of the charger to remove it from the device easily.

- Connect the charger to a power source. The approximate charging time is 4.5 hours.
- Pull slightly to disconnect the tracker from the charging cable.

Tractive GPS Cat Tracker, Tractive GPS DOG

- Remove the mounting clip if necessary.
- Press the buttons on the top and bottom of the device to detach the battery.
- Insert the battery into the charger provided and connect it to a power source. The approximate charging time is three hours.

- Remove the tracker from your pet.
- Press the buttons on the top and bottom of the device to detach the tracker from the battery.
- Insert the battery into the charger provided and connect it to a power source. The approximate charging time is three hours.

Please note: While the battery of the GPS Cat Tracker, GPS Dog or GPS Cat Tracker with integrated collar is charging, the battery status displayed in the app may not be updated to reflect the current battery level. This is because the tracker can only send data to the app when the battery is connected and the device is turned on. Once charging is complete, please attach the battery to the tracker, ensure the device is turned on, and wait a few minutes until the battery status of your tracker is successfully updated in the app.
Tractive GPS Classic, Tractive GPS 3G

- Attach the A/C adapter-head to the A/C adapter.
- Connect the USB cable to the A/C adapter and connect it to a power source.
- Attach the charging clamp to the device by carefully aligning the 4 golden charging pins. The approximate charging time is two hours.

Tractive GPS XL
|
|
- Connect the Tractive GPS XL tracker to a power outlet by plugging the USB charger that came with the tracker into the USB power adapter. The approximate charging time is eight hours.

What kind of charging adapter is safe to use?
5V adapters with an output of up to 1A are safe for charging your Tractive GPS tracker. Any charger with a higher voltage (for example 9V) can damage the device.
We strongly recommend that you do not charge your tracker using a charging port in your car. This is because these charging ports often have a very high power output, which can damage the battery of your tracker.
