Charging your Tractive GPS tracker

Making sure your Tractive tracker is charged keeps your pet safe and connected. Here’s how to charge every Tractive tracker model quickly and easily.

Only use the cable that came with your tracker for best performance and safety.

If your tracker is connected to the charger but isn’t charging, check out My Tractive tracker won’t charge for tips on what to do next.

Tractive DOG 6

  1. Open the protective charging port cover.
  2. Plug the USB-C cable into the charging port. Only use the cable that came with your tracker.
  3. Connect the other end of the cable to a power source.

Your tracker has two LED bars (top and bottom). As it charges, the bottom LED bar lights up from left to right.

If your tracker doesn’t light up, unplug the USB-C cable, flip it 180°, and plug it back in.

The tracker is fully charged when the whole LED bar is lit. A full charge takes about 2 hours.

What kind of charging adapter is safe to use?

Only use 5V adapters with an output up to 1A to charge your Tractive tracker. Avoid using higher voltage chargers (like 9V) as they can damage the tracker.

We strongly advise against using car charging ports. These often supply too much power and can damage your tracker’s battery.
