Set up a Power Saving Zone with FRITZ!Box routers

Want to use a Power Saving Zone with your Tractive tracker and a FRITZ!Box router? Here’s how you can get started.

Use a Tractive Base Station

The Tractive Base Station makes it easy to set up Power Saving Zones with FRITZ!Box, especially if your router’s settings aren’t a perfect match for your tracker. To learn more, check out our article on How to use the Tractive Base Station.

If Tractive still can’t detect your Wi-Fi network, enable legacy mode on your router.

Enable legacy mode on your FRITZ!Box

  1. Log in to your FRITZ!Box settings at http://fritz.box.
  2. Once logged in, go to Wi-Fi.
  3. Select Wi-Fi Channel and enable Adjust Wi-Fi channel settings.
  4. From the Wireless standard dropdown, select Wi-Fi 4 (802.11b+g+n) for the 2.4-GHz frequency band.
  5. Click Apply to save.
  6. Next, go to Security in the Wi-Fi menu.
  7. In the WPA Encryption section, select WPA + WPA2 for the WPA mode.
  8. Click Apply to save.

If you’d like to see their help article on this, see Wireless device cannot connect to the FRITZ!Box.

Set up a Power Saving Zone in the Tractive app

Once legacy mode is enabled on your FRITZ!Box router, Add Power Saving Zone from the Map on the Tractive mobile app. Check out our article Power Saving Zone: How-To Guide for the detailed steps.
