In general, if your Tractive GPS is charged regularly, and the device is in an area with a good mobile network connection, your Tractive GPS device will update itself (via a firmware update) automatically. Additionally you can also set your phone or tablet to automatically install the latest version of the Tractive GPS app as soon as it is available.
Updating your Tractive GPS device
It's important to regularly charge your Tractive GPS device and keep it connected so it can receive updates as they are available. Please note the following requirements, necessary for the tracker to receive the update:
- The tracker must be turned on.
- The device must be connected to the local mobile network (to send and receive data from the Tractive servers) - this should happen automatically if you are in an area with good cellular coverage.
- The battery level must be greater than 20%.
Under these circumstances, the update will take just a few minutes.
