Wellness Tab Update for Dogs

Our Health tab (formerly known as the Wellness tab) has been revamped to make tracking your dog’s well-being easier than ever.

What happened to the Wellness Score?

The Wellness Score previously combined Activity, Sleep Duration, and Sleep Quality into a single number. But now, with the addition of Resting Heart Rate, Resting Respiratory Rate, and Bark Monitoring, you’ll get more detailed daily insights by tapping into each metric individually.

What changes have we made?

With a clean, intuitive design, you can now monitor five key metrics for your dog’s health in one view:

3 Existing Metrics:

Activity – Detect changes in movement that may signal pain, discomfort, or reduced energy.
Sleep – Monitor sleep quality to see if your pet is getting enough rest or waking up more than usual.
Barking – Stay informed about changes in your dog’s barking patterns that could signal stress or separation anxiety. (Only available with the DOG 6)

2 New Metrics for Dogs:

Resting Heart Rate – Track changes in your pet's average resting heart rate to monitor overall health and detect early signs of illness. (Only available with the DOG  4, DOG XL/XL Adventure & DOG 6).
Resting Respiratory Rate – Track changes in your pet's average RRR to monitor overall health and detect early signs of illness. (Only available with the DOG 4, DOG XL/XL Adventure & DOG 6).

What do the different statuses for the new metrics mean?

Learning...

This means your pet hasn't been wearing the tracker long enough.

Your Tractive device collects and analyzes data when your pet is at rest, for a period of at least 7 days. With this, your device learns your dog’s typical behavior and establishes a baseline for your dog's health vitals.

Once a baseline is established, you will receive insights into whether your dog’s vitals are within its normal range, lower, or elevated.

Sync Needed

Shown as a dash (-) in the app. You’ll need to move your phone closer to the tracker to sync the latest data via Bluetooth.

Not Enough Data

Although Tractive has established your dog’s baseline, we do not have enough data to give a reading, most likely because your dog hasn’t worn their tracker long enough on this day.

Why can’t I see all the features on the Health Tab?

  • Use our latest trackers. Resting heart rate and resting respiratory rate are available with our dog trackers. Bark Monitoring is only available with the Tractive DOG 6.
  • Use the tracker for at least seven days. Data from at least seven days is needed for us to learn what is normal for your dog to establish their baseline.
  • Use the tracker consistently. Keep the tracker on your dog as much as possible, especially when they’re resting (except during charging). This will help us learn your dog's resting vital signs.

What happens to the Health Alerts?

Health Alerts are not affected by this update. As long as Health Alerts are enabled, you'll continue to receive notifications for activity and sleep monitoring. Learn more in this article: Health Alerts: How-To-Guide
